Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide clients who are self-pay or not using insurance with a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for services.
If you are receiving psychotherapy services and are not using insurance, you have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of care.
This estimate is provided upon request and will reflect anticipated fees based on the services discussed. Actual charges may vary depending on the duration and frequency of sessions or changes to the treatment plan.
For more information about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Questions about Good Faith Estimates can be directed to the practice during the consultation or intake process.
Practice Policies & Informed Consent
The following information is provided to help clarify the nature of psychotherapy services offered through Hallows End Collective and to support informed decision-making. A therapeutic relationship is not established until intake procedures are completed and informed consent is formally obtained. Practice Policy and Informed Consent is available at intake.
Nature of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that may involve discussion, reflection, emotional exploration, and experiential or creative approaches. Therapy may address emotional, relational, psychological, or behavioral concerns and is tailored to the individual.
Psychotherapy is not a guaranteed cure, and outcomes vary based on many factors, including client engagement, external stressors, and the complexity of concerns presented.
Risks and Benefits
Potential benefits of psychotherapy may include increased insight, emotional awareness, improved relationships, and greater flexibility in responding to internal and external experiences.
Potential risks may include emotional discomfort, increased awareness of difficult thoughts or feelings, or temporary distress as patterns are explored. These experiences are a normal part of therapeutic work and are approached with care and pacing.
Confidentiality
Information shared in therapy is confidential and protected by law, with the following standard exceptions:
Risk of serious harm to self or others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult
Court orders or legal requirements
Consultation with other professionals for clinical purposes, using identifying information only when necessary
More detailed information regarding privacy practices is available in the Privacy Policy.
Telehealth Services
Telehealth services are provided using secure platforms when possible; however, electronic communication carries inherent risks. By engaging in telehealth, clients acknowledge and accept these risks.
Clients must be physically located in California at the time of telehealth sessions.
Fees, Payment, and Cancellations
Fees, payment arrangements, and cancellation policies are discussed during the consultation and intake process. Clients are responsible for payment of services as agreed upon.
Clients who are self-pay or not using insurance have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges in accordance with federal law.
Emergencies and Crisis Care
Hallows End Collective does not provide emergency or crisis services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in psychotherapy is voluntary. Clients may ask questions, express concerns, or discontinue services at any time. Therapy works best when participation is collaborative and based on mutual consent.
Scope of Services
Services provided are limited to psychotherapy and related clinical services within the therapist’s scope of practice and licensure. This practice does not provide legal, medical, or forensic services.
Acknowledgment
Engaging in psychotherapy indicates understanding of the nature of services, potential risks and benefits, confidentiality limits, and client rights. Formal informed consent is obtained prior to the start of treatment.
